Visceral Games has released yet another developer diary to give some insight into their new title, "Dante's Inferno". Quick recap: I played God of War III at E3 but was more impressed by the private demonstration of Dante's Inferno. I love the concept and the overall feel of the game despite its obvious similarities to God of War. Check it out:

Thanks,
Nick

And to think there are 6 mores circles (or stages..) of this level detail. At this rate I may avoid any further diary's to keep some excitement of what the rest are like.

At first I didn't care about the game, seeing how similar it was to god of war, well, they said they hired the same level designer. To set the similarities aside, the game looks interesting, hell is a fresh place to start, and I'm actually exited about fighting in the 9 circles of hell^^

IT looks to me like Visceral studios is trying too much at once, trying to go to the extremes, like Deadspace they tried to have maximum gore and scares, and in this one its like they are trying to go for maximum disgust factor. But it does look like its shaping up well.

Wait a minute here, you seem to be faulting this developer for pushing their games to the extreme, using the example of dead space. However dead space was a very critically acclaimed game and the things that made it stand out, other than the location, were the scares and the gore.

I just don't understand why it would be a bad thing to continue that trend. Although I do think its funny how the way they're promoting this game is as something disgusting.

If you enjoy the art and atmosphere of Dante's Inferno, look into Wayne Barlowe, he did much of the concept art for this game. I've read a book of his, and he's strangely deep into the environment and architecture of hell.

Wow, I was totally gonna let this one fly under my radar. But looks like something that'd be interesting to play!

I must say, the pieces certainly fit in THIS game. o.@

I was actually rather disgusted at the idea of a game developer taking Dante's Inferno and attempting to adapt it into a video game, but this is looking rather interesting. I'll keep an eye out for it. Thanks Nick!
