I can't wait to see how exactly this music comes into play throughout the game. I'm sure that the music will reflect various environments and characters that you meet throughout the game. I can't wait to get my hands on it at PAX.
Thanks,
Nick
P.S.- Brad officially has no right to complain about the soundtrack. You hear that Brad, I want your commentary on the game to focus on the gameplay.
P.P.S.- In fact, if you don't like Metal in general, please don't provide your commentary on the soundtrack.

I think the soundtrack will be awesome, i mean the main character has a guitar as a weapon that usually means good songs during game play.

Yay for Dethklok :D

The absence of Nirvana saddens me, but this is good enough.

the soundtrack is quite awesome, I love heavy metal and the game looks hella good! this is a day one purchase for me!

I like Nirvana, even though the lead singer an hero'd.
Great soundtrack.

Nirvana isn't metal. Why would it be in here? I'm totally loving the amount of Judas Priest. And In Flames. And everything else :)
I also like how they include songs that most people wouldn't have heard for a few artists. Much better than them putting all the well known songs. At least to me, anyway.

Getting the rights for that soundtrack must've cost quite a bit of money.
Sure hope gamers don't totally flake out and not buy Brutal Legend. If it does well we may even get a sequel to Psychonauts! [/wishful_thinking] But really, this list is just icing on the awesome cake already.

I have absolutely no reason to not get this day 1. It like "hey you like metal? oh cool, do you like video games too? well guess what? merry f**king christmas!"

I'm a huge metalhead. Glad they have Black Sabbath and some death metal. So I'm happy. But there are some bands in there I don't like, I hope for a feature that lets you skip tracks on the radio.

Slough Feg has been my favorite band for years and it is truly amazing to see them in a video game. They are like a mixture of Maiden, Thin Lizzy, and Saint Vitus; I highly recommend giving them a listen, along with Brocas Helm.
This was already going to be a day one pickup for me, but with this soundtrack I'm not sure I can wait that long.

Kiss and Lita Ford are on there, but no Metallica or Iron Maiden? :O
Otherwise, its a very good list.
15 years, 3 months ago
Nick likes Cradle Of Filth and Mastodon. =D
this is going to be a kickass game.

The best part about this soundtrack is that there are songs that are highly under appreciated, and will hopefully gain some cred with their inclusion in this game.
15 years, 3 months ago
Lol... metal.
I'll go ahead and heed your advice in the P.P.S.
15 years, 3 months ago
I just don't understand why there is no Maiden or Metallica. Eddie Riggs is an obvious Iron Maiden reference so you'd think they'd have a few of their songs. Metallica just seems like a no-brainer, after all they are one of, if not the most popular metal bands around.
On the other hand: UFO is ridiculously underrated, Tenacious D is awesome, and I love the show "Metalacalypse".

*sniffle* i'm gonna need a moment... this is so awesome....

"Dragonforce- Through the Fire and Flames"
...*facepalm*. Other than that, awesome! No other complaints here.

Candlemass – Witches
Carcass – No Love Lost
Cloven Hoof – Nightstalker
Emperor – Thus Spake The Nightspirit
Enslaved – Frost

No iron maiden :(, oh well the list is awesome though.
15 years, 3 months ago
Quite a nice list, except for dragonforce. I don't want to listen to dragonforce anymore after all the people I know playing that song on guitar hero just because it's difficult.
15 years, 3 months ago
I'm so sad, no Metallica?
15 years, 3 months ago
That's quite a list they've got there, but is that the final selection? I can't wait for more from this beast!
15 years, 3 months ago
This just might be the greatest soundtrack for any game...ever haha
i cant believe Dethklok got in there lol
15 years, 3 months ago
only problems with that list is that they have dragonforce in it. and no pre - black album metallica and maiden??!!
15 years, 3 months ago
I got overly excited upon seeing In Flames on the soundtrack. Not only In Flames, but good In Flames. Goliaths Disarm Their Davids is a great standout song from Jester Race. That alone makes me overlook the absence of Metallica. Thank you, EA and Double Fine. <3

Amazing... it's so beautiful. I'm so happy.

Wow, I'm surprised they actually put a few Scorpions tracks on w/o including Rock You Like a Hurricane for once. Blackout >>> Rock You Like a Hurricane.
15 years, 3 months ago
As others have said, good list except for Dragonforce. I absolutely hate Dragonforce.
And I'm also confused as to why there's no Maiden and Metallica. I don't even really enjoy Metallica, but everyone else and their mothers enjoy them. You think they'd be in a metal game..
No serious complaints though. I think it's amazing that such a huge song listing will even be in the game. Not expecting that at all.
15 years, 3 months ago
This is a kick ass track list where the hell is Metallica? They have metal in their fucking name.
15 years, 3 months ago
Wow. That is possibly the best soundtrack ever implemented into a video game.
The lack of Maiden and Opeth does sadden me a bit but overall I'm 10x more excited about this game now.
15 years, 3 months ago
This soundtrack is so awesome i can't believe it!
Only thing is... I really hope you can customize it so i can take away the Dragonforce song >.>
15 years, 3 months ago
Wow, i really wasn't expecting all this Dragonforce hate... lol.

Children of Bodom,
Dethklok,
Dragonforce,
Manowar,
Megadeath,
Scorpions,
Slayer.
This sounds really good.
I wish they would have put in Dark Moor or something, but oh well.
Really Great

No iron maiden + no metallica = awsome soundtrack? Fail.
15 years, 3 months ago
i do believe the absense of any metallica could be explained with the explosion of megadeath.
JUST SAYIN

I think this is the first game where i will look forward to the soundtrack. And it will never be perfect, they haven't based the soundtrack on your iPod so just appreciate.
15 years, 3 months ago
No Meshuggah? :(
15 years, 3 months ago
Besides Marilyn Manson (Yo, Manson... Annie Lennox wants her make-up back), that is an awesome tracklist!
Judas Priest + Megadeth = BEST GAME EVAR. I grew up listening to these bands and by God, I will DIE listening to these bands.

One word... METAL!!!! m/
15 years, 3 months ago
Meh...needs more Power Metal IMO (and NOT more Dragonforce, so don't misunderstand! lol). Otherwise, really solid.
15 years, 3 months ago
Oh and I think it would be hilarious to add some tracks from Lordi just for kicks! haha

Few questions:
Where the fuck is Iron Maiden?
For that matter, where is Gwar and old Metallica, that is, Metallica excluding Saint Anger and Death Magnetic?
Why do some people here think that "Metal" means "Grunge"?
Why is there only one Slayer song, and why is it not Raining Blood?
Why is Static-X in there at all?
Other than that, it's a more than solid list.
15 years, 3 months ago
Children of Bodom
Cradle of Filth
In Flames
Judas Priest
Slayer
Tenacious D
...Just awesome soundtrack for a game!
15 years, 3 months ago
Vredesbyrd... allow me to answer those questions.
1.) Iron Maiden is probably missing because they couldn't secure the rights to use their music. I find it highly unlikely that it is a matter of not wanting to include their music.
2.) As for Gwar, who knows, could be licensing, could be that they had to pick and choose and they wanted different bands for different parts of the game and Gwar just didnt fit the bill. Metallica is probably a licensing issue or they simply wanted to choose bands that don't get as much spotlight attention as Metallica.
3.) They have been very open about trying to choose songs that are not as well known. This is probably why they went with a song other than Raining Blood.
4.) Because Static-X is electronic Metal.... they probably wanted a diverse soundtrack. Not to mention they fucking rock...

Dragonforce suck!!
And like 100 people said Why no Metallica or Maiden?!?!? D:
Tool would be awesome in the game too x3
