Holy crap wow. Things I was not expecting from the multiplayer? Depth, variety, and an experience that appears vastly different from the single player game. The interview also reveals that the design doc behind Brutal Legend began as a multiplayer game. Insane.

I was a little bit unconvinced that Brutal Legend's multiplayer would be interesting, but after all of the news that has come out and videos I'm actually thinking about going online with the game; and that's something because I hate RTS games.

wow. brutal legend was originally geared more towards multiplayer experience? im thankful tehy went with single player but after having them talk about it, im still a little skeptical on how it would work but ill make my final judgements when i see full games in action and playing it myself.

Seriously?
I wasn't expecting a RTS style multiplayer.
I might like it but RTSes aren't what I enjoy.

The premise behind the multiplayer reminds me a lot of the older game 'Sacrifice'.
It was basically an RTS from a third-person perspective of the leader of the particular faction.

Look it up on Youtube sometime as well.

I didn't like the part where the Death Metal listening faction were said to be wearing eyeliner and being depressed. That's far from Death Metal.
But seriously it looks badass. I was expecting a Red Faction style multiplayer for this. Way wrong.

i wus thinking the game wus gunna b like guitar hero or something except like a death metal version, but it works ill probably still buy it maybe, but they do need 2 make like a guitar hero or rockband death metal style like how they made the classic rock or country, just stuff like that

I'm still not convinced.

So it will be a third person one on one RTS? Okay I really don't like where this is going guys.

I'm picking this game up almost exclusively for the humour and cutscenes. After seeing those dev diaries I just got really hyped for the game.

I didn't know that this game had multiplayer, and it even looks pretty *** good!

See, I originally said that I didn't want the multiplayer to take away from the singleplayer. Now, to hear that the entire game is based around these mechanics.
Jesus, my entire opinion of this game has changed, and I don't know if it's for the better.

Yeah I saw the gameplay on gametrailers. It was awesome.!

Well so far it looks pretty interesting, but it does look a little iffy, the concept is there, but Im a little worried about execution. Sure having a rock based RTS where you have more of an active role than "Tell unit to attack" seems pretty cool on paper, but there is still the issue of balance and playability.

The multiplayer looks really good, the depth of unit types and options you are given could lead to really deep and addictive online gameplay. I just hope it sells well.

I'm so looking forward to this game a little more now! Sounds like the multi-player is unique and worth checking out. But even without it, I'm still planning on getting the game.

to all of you above that were either not that interested in the game, or have doubts about the game due to this clip, you should know that Tim Schafer is someone who cares a lot about his games. He makes sure that his games are not only funny and well written, but fun to play throughout the entire game. There is no way he would let the multiplayer detract from the single player, or vice-versa. So before you write this off as a rent or pass, you should have a little faith in one of the industrys last remaining truly artistic and great mind.
