It's been a while since I played Final Fantasy X. I remember it never really clicked with me. Today I may have remembered why..

I really wanted to play it for the story as I've heard it's fantastic, but I can't get over the musical style. At one point I contemplated importing it and playing the Japanese version hoping it was different, but it's the same.

Nick, you really liked FFX, right? Did the music have anything to do with it?

Maybe before XIII we'll do a Revival Club.

Yes, FFX is a great game. I've seen Skyliner and Vensito play it. I have yet to play it yet.

FFX is a wonderful game, and you really shouldn't predict what the soundtrack will be like from the opening sequence. Otherworld (the song played during the opening sequence) is the only song of its kind in the entire soundtrack. If you meant that the entire soundtrack didn't suit you, then my mistake.

FFX's storyline is amazing (for some, you have to ignore the romance side of it, which is often what I have to do), and if the music ever gets on your nerves, just hit the mute button, blast your own stuff, and play away. FFX has just too many other good points to be ruined by what some consider is a bad score.

The style of music in that scene isn't the prominent style throughout the game. It's just that one song really (although you do hear it one other time later).
This song is a better representation of what the musical style is like,

I'd say give the game a shot, if it's your kinda game then it shouldn't take long to hook you in.

David you spoomer, it's Rammstein! they're epic.

anyway I guess you don't like metal that much, but don't worry because like the others said the rest of the soundtrack is beautiful, especially the song To Zanarkand, I fucking love that song, it's amazing.

    play it. srs.

Well, David, that song only plays twice in the entire game so you shouldnt be discouraged. FF X is a great game and you really should give ti a try. I mself have beaten it three times and I enjoyed every play through. It's not the BEST Final Fantasy, but it certainly is up there.

The music in FFX was great it really captured the atmosphere of where you were. Whether traversing through the country fields of the Mi'ihen Highroad, making a quick stop at a Travel Agency to rest and restock items, or spelunking in Mt. Gagazet the locales were always accompanied by well fitting music.

Sl4y4, it's not Rammstein. Otherworld is performed by Bill Miur.

Like others have said, this is the only time the musical style is like that. The rest of the game (well, how much I've played so far) is your usually amazing Final Fantasy composition.

I'm actually just now playing through the game. It very well may be the first Final Fantasy that I'll actually finish. It's incredible.

This was a great game, perhaps my favorite of all time, and one of the things that really made me fall in love with this game, besides the great story, was the soundtrack, especially the song A Dream That Will End Some Time.

For once I agree with David when it comes to music.

I'm a huge metal fan, its the only thing I listen to, but that song is awful. Awful awful awful.

FFX was easily one of my favorite final fantasy games. It was amazing on all levels. I agree with david that the music may have been kinda wtfish, but that is just one song, the soundtrack gets better.

If your just talking about this metal song David this is the only scene I think that has this song. If you do play the game though you can just play the original version of this instead during this scene it has a girl actually singing the lyrics.

I personally have NO IDEA why they even put that song in the game. it is so out of place, but the rest of the music is absolutely the best soundtrack of Nobu's career in my opinion.

I'm all for X to be a revival club!

Final Fantasy X is my favorite game and the music isn't really like that for the whole game. Their are only a couple of songs like that in the game.

@xvader123123: Nobuo Uematsu only did one song for FFX, which is To Zanarkand (unsurprisingly, it's the best song). I believe he supervised the other songs, though.
