As if the new Castlevania "Castlevania" game being developed by the Jericho studio wasn't bad enough, now the movie is being directed by the writer and director of the first Saw movie, James Wan.
Ugh, I'm sure there will be plenty of "fucked up" things for Nick to love about the movie. I will watch this movie for the sole purpose of supporting the IP. If the movie does well (it won't), maybe more people will buy the game (they won't).
Hey, at least the poster isn't bad.
Brad
P.S. I wonder where Igarashi is. Does the man have a blog?

There's a Katana on the poster. Now I didn't play all Castlevania games so I don't know if it's in there or not, but I'm getting a feeling that they put it in there just to make it look cool. :/
But I'll admit it is interesting to see the fucked up shit the movie will have.

Does Alucard have any part in the movie (the poster gives me suspicions of that)

@Zladko Alucard can pick up a few katanas in SoTN actually.

What are the chances that:
1) Wan uses a washed-out, blueish grey color treatment for the whole fucking film
and
2) The film begins with a cold opening of someone getting brutally devoured by vampires (of course, this scene will take place in some kind of cold, industrial setting).

I dunno how accurate that is. I mean, IMDB says it will be directed by Sylvain White. Castlevania wiki says that it was taken over by White from Paul W. S. Anderson.

Yeah, so the poster looks pretty BA, but I wanna know if this new game is going to be a movie tie in... It isn't, is it?

Bakas,go re-check your info. The studio involved with Castlevania decided to have James Wan direct the movie now.I don't know if the script will remain the same or change.

Igarashi is probably somewhere developing a sequel to the critically acclaimed "Castlevania: Judgement".

Poor Castlevania >.< I guess these things may generate a little mainstream interest, or general glances in it's direction *shrugs*.
But I am not really sure what the director of "Saw" will do with this, I guess on the plus side it seems it has been removed from the utterly untalented hands of Paul W.S Anderson which is a small reprieve.
As for the game I am kind of troubled by the notion of MercurySteam developing it. What they have shown so far seems rather drab and more similar to a generic action game rather than the whole adventure, platforming RPG hybrid that all the castlevania games I have loved so far have been. (Mostly Symphony of the Night and all the GBA+DS series I guess, though despite a few minor issues I used to kind of like Castlevania 64 aswell).
I will probably remain cynical of MercurySteam and the direction they seem to be taking until they give me reason to feel otherwise really.
And I have no idea what Igarashi is up to :/

The poster looks badass imo, but it wont make a movie good.
I dont know what to expect about this, but i mean James Wan from Saw? come on

Yes, poster looks good. I'll save my opinion after some screenshots and more story is released. And, yes! Thank God Paul Anderson isn't working on it. That sorry creature.

Ahh, nearly forgot. As for Igarashi's blog:

I believe that may be it.

Well atleast he might be able to get the atmosphere right and Saw 1's plot was pretty good, but he may not know how to do anything else and take the film straight from Nicks brain.
