My time as a King has come to a close. I just and finally finished Little King's Story on the Nintendo Wii. I apologize to all those loyal subjects for not broadcasting the finale. I enjoyed the game very much, but the ending sequence was pretty hard and frustrating. So I was avoiding further complicating it by having to worry about chat.
First off, Loved the Game. There are definitely faults. Some that will keep it from being in my Top 5 Games of all time. All those comparisons to Pikmin and Overlord, I'll talk about them on the next show.
Secondly, buy this game. Or at least find a way to try it. Everyone complains that the Wii doesn't have good games. And then when something comes out, they label it as too casual or not their thing. Seriously, WTF is wrong with you. This is not a casual game at all. Actually it's pretty difficult. I'd be surprised at who finished it.
Thirdly, This game has personality. Loads of it. More than a lot of stuff that comes out these days. That alone is worth the price of admission.
Lastly, I was lucky enough to talk to Yoshiro Kimura, the Producer and Director of Little King's Story. It was one of my highlights of E3. At first when I met him, he was quiet, kind of offputting. He was lost in thought maybe? From talking to him I later came to the conclusion that he was nervous about the game. Wanting it to be a success and also worrying about it's reception in the US. At the time I had no what kind of game it would be and how it would play. Even after the meeting I wasn't really sure. I had talked to him about the game and the things you could do in it. There was a lot but some of it wasn't really game play related. But I was sure that I liked the guy. His reactions to my questions, the way he got excited about his game, the way he described going to the composers office and singing how certain musical pieces should go. At that time I felt that this would be a good game. It's weird but I felt the heart of the game and the effort put in.
Finally, I want to do something to show Kimura-san how much I enjoyed the game and that there are people who gave it a chance. So I created a facebook album. I will be taking pictures of people from our community who also bought the game. Please take a picture of yourself with the game. Send them to me via email or post them somewhere I can get them. I'm going to upload all them and then email Kimura-san telling him about my opinions of the game. I was these to be real, so no photochops. I'm really hoping I can get a good response as I want this to be a very positive message to Kimura-san. You can view the album here if you'd like. Little King's Album
Thanks,
King David
If you want more Impressions, I will have a review up soon and I will certainly be talking about it during tonight's Podcast recording for show 125.

At first I was on the fence, but watching you play it really sold it to me. I just read an interview with Marvelous

David, keep the photo album going longer.
I will be getting paid later in August and am going to pick this game up.
I know you said you keep hearing this from people but I am telling the truth.
If I do not send you a photo of me loving some Little King's Story I will send you my address (I'm in Colorado) and you can kick my ass.
I had to stop watching you play because I knew I had to play this for myself and did not want anymore great parts (like the pinball boss) spoiled.
