I give you... DragonBall.

Now before everyone starts complaining, "Oh, Goku doesn't sound anything like the real character!" "Roshi doesn't look or talk funny!" "Its the not the dinosaur world they live in!!"

Though Piccalo does look retarded.

I was never really a fan of DragonBall, I was all about Dragon Ball Z, but I know what a live action movie of Dragon Ball should look like....
And it is how they represent it here.
How would you like it if they actually attempted to accomplish every single thing the fanboys asked of them?
I want Goku to have big hair.
I want Bulma to have blue hair.
I want to see Krillin.
Where is Roshi's island?

Fulfilling these needs... or wants I should say, would make the actual creation of this movie not necessarily impossible, but definitely a new kind of stupid.

They are attempting something that no one has ever even thought of trying, there have been YEARS for them to think up a proper way to display these characters, and they know the fans they are working with... some of the most die hard fans out there. For a lot of people Dragon Ball was their first anime.

All I am saying is, people want this movie, yes. But not THIS movie for it lacks familiar things. Let me ask you this... Would you rather see a movie that is completely thought out and under control by the director, a movie which takes everything they have chosen to work on and create believable characters and situations... or would you rather see a midget named krillin throwing a Fucking distructo disc.... or Hair on an actual human being that stands 2 feet in the air ( not a fro).
Or a voice that would never fit a character outside of an anime?

They are making this movie as realistic, as in believable, as possible. If they want to appease the fan boys, they are more than welcome to do that if they do this well enough to create a sequel.

p.s. I will watch this opening night. Most definitely.
