I received an email from Tia Marie of JTV informing us that the way they archive old broadcasts is going to change. The new policy states that JTV will only archive the last 14 days of our broadcasts. Also, that all highlights and episodes of the older footage will be savable. We expect you guys to do a great job of continuing to cut and save great clips every night.
With that said, we are about to lose a ton of 4player Podcast history over on Justin.tv. We care about saving our old stuff, but we cannot do all of this on our own. So if you want to cut anything from the old archives from over 14 days ago since we started streaming in February, you need to cut it and save it as a highlight before October 6th. After October 6th, it will all be gone. We are hoping you will all find the best footage, but we need a few things for the sake of archive quality.
1. Giant 1 hour long multi-part play sessions of big games help maintain our history. These are great and give new viewers the chance to become familiar with the old stuff.
2. If you are going to cut out shorter clips, try to keep them under 10 minutes so we can send them to Youtube.
3. Properly title the clips! State the game name and who is playing; and if it is a big episode, then list the part number. This is very important for people who are wading through all of our old clips. It also helps big when sending stuff to Youtube. Example: Brad plays Fatal Frame 1: Part 3. Or: Nick PWND by a bum (Condemned 2).
Also, to help with this community project, we have the great benefit of the Wiki school and chronodarkx have been working on. The have listed every game played on the feed and who played it day by day since August 2nd. This is an extremely valuable tool for this project and a great site all together. Here is the Wiki and here is the link to all played games.
Thanks to anyone who can help in this community project. Your help is very much appreciated.
Brad
