It seems Level 5 is one of the few companies still creating really new and interesting franchises in, what some consider, dark days for Japanese game development. And while the new online co-op details about Level 5's high budget JRPG, White Knight Chronicles, might be turning the most heads at TGS 08, what caught my eye from the show are the following games from the same company.

On PSP:

Ushiro

Danbol Senki (Cardboard War Machine)

On NDS:

Ni no Kuni (The Another World)

Traditional fantasy rpgs, horror rpgs, action rpgs, strategy rpgs, sports rpgs, loot-driven-dungeon-crawling-town-building rpgs, adventure games, puzzle games...

The variety of Japanese video game IP coming from Level 5 these days are reminiscent of Squaresoft's SNES and PS1 days. This developer is quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Now where is my Dark Cloud 3?
