If you listen to us blab on every week about games then you know that I am personally very very excited about Ghostbusters. The game was revealed last year by Game Informer magazine and has since made a pretty big splash in the industry. The game is in currently in development by Terminal Reality for both major next gen consoles while the PS2 and Wii versions of the game are being handled by Red Fly Studios. I know licenced games are typically avoided until reviews verify their credibility but I can't help myself. The ENTIRE CAST (for the most part) has returned to lend their writing and voice talent to the game which will act as a direct sequel to Ghostbusters II.
Unfortunately, Activision Blizzard made the brilliant decision of dropping all of the seemingly creative titles such as Brutal Legend, Chronicles of Riddick, and of course, Ghostbusters in order to focus on their "sure fire hits" such as Crash Bandicoot and Spyro....
GOD DAMN YOU ACTIVISION BLIZZARD... GOD DAMN YOU.
Today marks the first rumor as to who would be picking up the publishing rights for Ghostbusters and it is none other than.......ATARI. Yes folks, this is just a rumor but apparently ATARI is showing some interest in publishing the game. I am not a big fan of ATARI since they brought us such hits as "Enter the Matrix" and "Alone in the Dark"... Let me say this though: IF ATARI PUBLISHES THIS GAME, ALL WILL BE FORGIVEN!
I will keep you posted as more news becomes available.
