A long time ago, a trailer for a new animated Resident Evil movie surfaced depicting a t-virus outbreak at an airport. The trailer didn't really reveal much about the film except that it would star Claire Redfield and would be entirely in CG animation. At comic con 2008, Sony Entertainment/Capcom released a new full length trailer that reveals quite a bit more so lets take a look first:
The film is titled "Resident Evil: Degeneration" and is set 7 years following the events of Raccoon City and brings Leon and Claire back together to stop a bio terrorist leak at an airport. The virus spreads again after a single zombie is released into the airport and quickly escalates. The new trailer suggests that this is the same bad ass Leon that we grew to love in Resident Evil 4. Claire also seems to be back in full force as they face off against more undead and what seems like a new tyrant. It may be a return to classic resident evil but it looks awesome and I can't wait to see the movie when it hits this fall. The movie will see a theatrical release in Japan and will hit DVD and Blu Ray later this year. I will most definitely pick this up in Blu Ray format!
