So the big news of Day 1 at E3 involves the announcement of Final Fantasy XIII going multi-platform. If you read my post, i'm sure you know that I am not happy about this. This is simply because this gives people less of an incentive to purchase the different platforms so why should multiple platforms exist at all? I am still very excited for the game and I am very happy to know that a much wider audience will be able to experience the game but seriously... how can Sony respond to this?

The playstation 3 is a great piece of hardware with wonderful capabilities, infinite potential, and what is in my opinion the superior technology (blu-ray). When FFXIII ships next year for the Xbox 360, I am predicting it will be Lost Odyssey all over again with 4 discs in one box. On the PS3 however, I predict the game will fit on 1 disc, 2 at the most. In a live Q & A with posted on Kotaku earlier today with Producer, Yoshinori Kitase and Square Enix representative, Shinji Hashimoto, it was stated that both versions of the game are planned to be identical with production on the Xbox 360 version to start once they finish development in Japan (PS3). Apparently the game will only be released on the PS3 in Japan because of the smaller install base of the Xbox 360 there. (hmm maybe I should move to Japan)
Curiously enough, it seems that FF Versus XIII is still a PS3 exclusive! I hope that this remains this way and I pray to god that Sony responds with some amazing news at tomorrows press conference.
