Ok, so Greg Kasavin was only like my favorite game journalist ever. He was smart as crap, and I really trusted his advice on nearly everything. This guy was always super serious but STILL dressed up as a ninja to do his Shinobi review. I respect that kind of passion for ninjas. I sometimes wonder why people like to watch us play games over on our live feed, and then I remember myself once watching this guy play Oblivion for 12 hours strait. Before he moved on to bigger and better things, he was in charge of a little site called Gamespot, and his departure sparked what inevitably became the downfall of what was once a great game website. Well his "bigger and better" thing has arrived. And it has gotten me seriously excited about a genre I could never get into.
Games like Okami, Team Fortress 2, Windwaker, and the recently seen Mirror's Edge, have all been refreshingly original takes on visual style in an industry that has become filled with dark and gritty graphics engines. Well much like those games, here is another game that has taken a genre, usually dark and ugly, and has made it beautiful.
Yeah... and Greg Kasavin is one of the developers.
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3
I've never seen a color palette quite like this in an RTS. Looks bright, colorful, and easy to see. And my god, look at that water. Now I just need a PC that can play a game like this. Till then, I guess I will just watch the pretty videos.
Did I mention you will be able to control a legion of ARMORED BEARS?!!! I shit you not.
