Things have been quiet about Quantic Dream's upcoming PS3 game Beyond: Two Souls recently, so it's good to see Quantic Dream founder and Heavy Rain creator David Cage providing a few more titbits of information about the game in an interview with Playstation Blog.

"The game is very different from Heavy Rain, probably much more than people can imagine," he said. "What we showed at E3 was in fact a working version based on the same interface as Heavy Rain, but it is not the final interface of the game."

Elaborating on the differences between Heavy Rain and Beyond, he explained: "It's a balance that will be a little different from Heavy Rain, where we [were] really aiming for the atmosphere of a psychological thriller. Beyond, of course, will also have these components of emotion, depth of characters, strong moments, but there will also be a more epic, dramatic dimension"

It will be interesting to see what the final version of the interface looks like, as well as how different the game feels from Heavy Rain, in terms of gameplay as well as story. The E3 demo suggested that the game would feature familiar moments of scripted action laced with QTEs, coupled with some Driver: San Fransico-esque out-of-body experience gameplay.

Looks like there's still no sign of the obligatory Quantic Dream shower/sex/striptease scene though.

super hyped for this game. I just hope that despite the difference it has those tense moments that heavy rain had.
