On the last show Carlos and I had a discussion about the music in DJ Hero. It was something that I had a difficult time describing and this may be the best way to try. A song that I had never heard before DJ Hero was Masta Ace's Born To Roll. It wasn't until I started doing research that I heard the original version located above. Regardless of your musical preference, give it a listen so you have an idea of what kind of song it is.

Now, we've all heard Jean knight's Mr. Big Stuff. If you're not exactly what I'm sure talking about, you'll know 5 seconds into the following clip. So this is the mash up version of the two songs, one of my favorite songs from DJ Hero and one of the best example of how DJ Hero did a great job of fusing music.

After hearing/watching you guys talk about it on the podcast, I was contemplating buying DJ Hero.
Should I go for the First one or just skip to the second?

You can get the turntable bundle for the second one pretty cheap, Im sure. Do that and just get the first one used for super cheap. More music to play= more fun. Stand outs on the second one are the RZA megamix and the one with Missy Elliott and snoop doggy dogg.

Looks like an interesting game. Plus the remix of Born to roll and mr. big stuff is amazing.

Only song I really, really liked in DJ Hero was Pjanoo which I had heard in Ballad of Gay Tony trailer. That and innovative gameplay was reason why I got it. But somehow mixing two "bad" songs made a great mix! And then there was songs like Beats and Pieces. Really makes you air-scratch when you listen to it. Best music game ever?
