Hey guys, finally decided to drop my first comment! (I'm based Down Under in Melbourne, Australia by the way)

I can probably count the number of times I've been to a Toys R' Us with one hand in my lifetime, but I still clearly remember my one and only purchase - a Pokemon trading card starter deck. I was 7/8 at the time and the card game was all the rage at the time in Malaysia where I grew up.

Chris Davis playing 100 hours of Metal Gear Survive made me laugh so hard I nearly busted an artery. But then when he said "what else is there to play?" I nearly lost my shit.

For now on whenever Chris says he wished he had more time to finish games, always remember his 100 hours spent on Metal Gear Survive....

Really enjoyed Krispy going over the games Carlos got him to play. Made me want to pick up Save the Date and Dead End Road. He should definitely do more of those.

As for Toys R Us and Pokemon - they are actually what introduced me to the pocket monsters. They sent out a VHS promotional tape detailing the phenomenon in Japan and explaining it was coming Stateside. Showed clips of the show that hadnt aired yet, parts of the Game Boy games, and more. I was instantly sold.

    RIP Toys R' Us

I remember when I was a wee lad (6 years old I think), I went to a Toys R Us with my grandpa and brother. They went and looked at bikes while I wandered into the gaming isle. They had an N64 plugged in with Super Smash Bros. Never heard of it. Saw you could play as Pikachu, lost my shit, picked the Pokemon Stage, lost my shit even more. I must have stood there and played that thing for like 20 mins. Needless to say, that game was on the Christmas list later that year.

ToysR'Bust was a terrible store. Lego sets were always $10 more than everywhere else and they were inconsistent on release dates for products, even if sometimes they did release it early. The stories I heard from employees when I got older further cemented that it wasn't a great place. Finally I'll point out that for 20+ years there was only 1 store in my location.
