During Ubisoft's press conference, they revealed a new trailer an upcoming title being developed by one of their veteran studios. Valiant Hearts: The Great War is a downloadable title developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and is a puzzle adventure game set during World War 1. Valiant Hearts is based upon letters written by soldiers during the war and centers upon four strangers who are attempting to help a German soldier find a lost loved one.

While the narration of the trailer is certainly fitting and sets the tone for the game, the visual style conflicts with this at times. That's not to say using the Rayman Legends engine was a poor decision, but just some of the animations and the characters lacking eyes in a game that is meant to be emotional irks me. I'm hoping the comical jumping and bouncing hats don't last beyond the introductory segments of this title. Games have barely scratched the surface of WW1, so it would be nice to see a new game convey the proper tone that fits into that period of history. Just judging from this trailer, Ubisoft Montpellier certainly seems to have nailed the narrative aspect of a WW1 game.

Valiant Hearts is set to release on June 25th and is currently available for pre-order on Steam.

This isn't news. It was available for pre-order on Steam like two weeks ago.

Sad writing but like... Cartoons. Makes me wonder when 9/11 will be playable in a commercially sold video game.

Looks interesting, but the setting isn't all that exciting to me. Need to see more.
