Sony has laid all their cards on the table with the Playstation 4's release date of November 15th, and Microsoft has now taken its turn to announce the Xbox One's release as well: November 22nd, literally one week after its competitors' release.

There is a lot of temptation to overanalyze what this seven-day difference will mean, and I won't waste your time with any of it here. This generation brings us a neck-and-neck race between two consoles which are so similar to so many people that it is startling, and chances are we've all settled into our respective opinions regarding where our loyalties will lie this holiday season. If there's anything in Sony's favor, it'll be the $100 divide and the difficulty general consumers will likely have in determining a large enough difference between the consoles to warrant the extra cash- not a difference of seven days.

But that is just this writer's humble opinion. Does this affect your purchasing decision? Do you think this will affect many consumers' purchasing decisions? Are you sick of all of this next-gen console madness and are clutching your PC? Are you going against the grain and sticking with a Wii U?

Really though, if you're sticking with a Wii U, I think we would all like to hear an explanation.

The Xbox One will launch in 13 markets: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. They will roll out launches in other markets over the course of 2014.

I wish Earthbound and Bayonetta 2 could be enough to justify a Wii U but they aren't.

Now I sit back and enjoy the show.

I'm getting a PS4 at launch, but still don't see a reason to buy a Xbox One at launch. Ohe interesting thing that I've noted is that it's releasing one week after PS4 for the US, but one week earlier than the PS4 for EU. Granted the launch country numbers between the two consoles is quite staggering (32 for PS4, 13 for the Xbox One), it's probably not going to change much. The target markets between the two at launch are pretty different after all.

Probably not going to get either at launch but not because of the money (even though that is a factor). I see both consoles having technical issues so I'll wait to see if they are fixed in about a year or 2 so I can get a stable version.
