It's Saturday morning.  You're about to head out to lunch, spending times with friends, gearing up for our rather lovely Splinter Cell Blacklist community night tonight.  It's going to be a good day.

You're so content with your plans that you don't even notice that strange cardboard box in the corner of your living room.  You enter the kitchen to pour yourself a drink before heading out.  As you approach the fridge and reach your hand toward the handle, another one appears in your peripheral vision and takes hold of your throat.  You panic, struggling against the strong grip, desperate to survive until you feel a new sensation against your neck: the coldness of a steel blade.  You immediately stop struggling and, in a whimpering voice you whisper “what do you want?”

The intruder does not respond.  Instead, with a firm grip on your shoulder and a knife resting against your Adam’s apple, you are guided into your bedroom where your computer awaits.  He forces your into the desk chair and tosses a sheet of paper with a URL on it.  In a guttural whisper he commands you: “open it.”  You comply without hesitation.

The URL leads you to a link on 4Player Network, your favorite gaming site.  You wonder how he knew this but you don’t dare turn to meet his gaze.  You read the title: “How About 25 Minutes of New Metal Gear Solid 5 Gameplay?”  As you read the description you realize that everything that has happened in the past minute is written on the page.  How is this possible?  You have no time to contemplate it before an insistent grunt demands that you watch the videos below.

As the second video draws to a close you feel relieved as the death-bearing knife is pulled away from your neck.  Before you can turn to ask the intruder why he would do this, a heavy blunt object bashes into the back of your skull, driving your head painfully into your wooden desk.  You feel blood draining onto your face and as you slip into unconsciousness you hear the intruder leaving with a puzzling cry of “bawoooooooo…”

Bawoooooooo…

I just watched the two gameplay demos and didn't even realize there was an article but reading it afterwards I thought it was pretty stupid.

MGS 5 looks like its shaping up to be a great game with multiple play styles though I will prefer to go stealth as I always have with an MGS game.

It looks great so far, although it does seem to need a bit of polish (which it undoubtedly will get with it being a Kojima project and all!). I'd love to see the game in person on an HD screen.

That soldier hold-up & force to call allies over mechanic is pretty freaking awesome.
