It's hard to believe that another Grand Theft Auto has finally hit store shelves. Rockstar has been slaving away at this game for years and has pumped more money than god into its production. Expectations are incredibly high and hype is rampant. Of course, our review is coming but in the meantime, we want to know what members of our beloved community think of the game so far!

As you might expect, Grand Theft Auto 5 will be a big focus on the site in the coming days (weeks, months...). In addition to plenty of GTAV goodness on the feed, here is what we have comin down the pipe!

Right Now

Brad is broadcasting GTA5 for 24 hours on 4pp.tv! Join him for some classic GTA Shenanigans!

Tomorrow (9/18/2013)

Podcast 332 Recording at 8PM (CST). We will discuss our opinions and experiences with the game so far.

Review

Joseph will be handling the review / video review. We'll keep you posted as to when this will hit the site.

If you have picked up GTA5 or have been enjoying the broadcast, let us know what you think! Our thoughts and opinions of the game will obviously evolve over the next few weeks but we want to know what the initial reaction is! Sound off in the comments!

I've never been particularly interested in GTA. The only one I've completed was GTA3 and GTA4 was boring as hell for me. I couldn't really connect with Nico in any way.

That being said, I've been watching Brad play GTA5 for a few hours now and this game seems to have more interesting writing and characters. The story seems strong enough to encourage me to sit through all the driving (which, again, I never found particularly enticing) to get to the next cutscene.

I was going to wait to get it on PC, but now I'm seriously considering going to get it on 360.

I'll be on waiting for a PC version. Playing gta4 for the first time a little while back made me realize that I don't really like gta all that much, I just don't have fun with it. That said, a lot of the stuff they introduce in 5 seems interesting, so I definitely want to play it, but I could wait a while till PC release.
I'll just be playing Saints Row 4 in the meantime.

Judging from what I saw on Brad's marathon, the missions in this game look really really scripted. I will probsbly just wait for the PC version, to play online, and watch the cutscenes on youtube or whatever.

Can't stand on moving cars, games crap. I do get a lot of the same vibe as GTA 4 and that isn't good. I really hated GTA 4. And the death animation irks me.

So after playing GTAV for a lengthy session last night and watching Brad's 24hr cast throughout yesterday and this morning I have some initial likes and issues:

    Likes:
-Michael Mann-ish/De Palma-ish Script as usual.
    -Ability to switch characters.
-Healthy amount of driving/flying vehicles, hidden packages, hidden weapons/body armor, character customization.
-Doesn't look that bad on a dying console! Actually the game looks pretty amazing sometimes!

    Issues:
-NO PC version - ironically setting me up to get robbed later on I guess but just imagine how this game will look on PC/Next Gen!
-Still kinda shitty driving, fist fighting, and gun aiming.
-Not that big of a fan of the characters - geez how many fucking movies/commercials have I seen the exact same cliche characters. Is it just me or is Michael too whiny!
-You can die practically from the minimalist of situations such as tripping over a curb.
-Character/Car customization is really limited - something they really could borrow from SR4 even though I know they are not the same-just sayin.
-And lastly just like GTA4, it takes itself way too fucking serious most of the time while putting in supposed funny bits that would cater to a 13 year old's sense of humor.

So far the game looks enjoyable, I'm not one of the people who think its the greatest thing ever nor am I one of those people who cry that its to scripted and wish it were more open.

That game is how it is and all the complaining won't change it, Its an over hyped game so don't really go into it being the greatest game of all time. If you don't like GTA then rant this just to so you can go fucking around and then be done with it.

Honestly I'll play this for some lols and them if it's still interesting I'll beat it.
:3 Can't wait for the review and the podcast.

There is a lot to like about this game, but at the same time there are things to not like about it. I was not to impressed with GTA IV and this game in my opinion is not much better. I am still not that far into the game and I will wait til I am finished with the campaign before I give my final judgement.

It's good. A lot to do.
Online modes will increase the games overall lifespan 10 fold.
