During the Nintendo Direct this morning, Nintendo showed off the reveal trailer for one of its more anticipated titles: Super Smash Bros. Universe. Surprisingly enough, the trailers shown today also include some gameplay meaning it won't be long before we can relive the moments of Nintendo's characters beating the crap out of each other. This particular entry into the Super Smash franchise was developed by Namco-Bandai and Sora Ltd. which may have lead to speculation that Smash Bros, may take a new direction mechanically. After all this is the same studio that worked on titles such as Soul Calbur 4 and 5, the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja series and Tekken: Tag Tournament. Looking at the gameplay footage; however, reveals that this latest entry seems to just be an extension of Brawl which may or may not be a good thing depending on your view of the game. Personally, I was a fan of Brawl's changes to the series and am more than happy to see that continued here. Just, please, Namco-Bandai, please remove that god damned trip mechanic. Remove that and I will throw all my money at you.

Nintendo has yet to make any mention of features like DLC characters or maps, but the Super Smash franchise would seem to be the perfect fit for Nintendo to jump on that business model so long as they handle it well. A Super Smash game with constant updates, DLC content, and a good online function would ensure this game will be played by thousands of gamers long into the announcement of the next title. Super Smash Bros. Universe will release for the WiiU and 3DS in 2014.

I have never experienced such jubilation in a video game trailer before until I witnessed the reveal of Mega Man.

I pretty much main Link and Ganondorf in Smash Bros, so I hope they're keeping Ganondorf in the game and not replacing him with the Skyward Sword villains. Maybe I'll main the Wii Fit chick if he's out.

As far as Mega Man is concerned, I'm not a huge fan of the Mega Man franchise, but the more third party characters the merrier.

Ugh, the Wii Personal Trainer character is kinda dumb. I was hoping we'd see more 3rd party characters and maybe more about the single player or new combat elements. That being said I still really want it.

I was iffy about the Wii Fit Trainer. But after I saw all of the lol-worthy stuff, I welcome her with open arms as a joke character xD

Also, anyone know what the heck appeared at the end of the Mega Man reveal?
