Crawling slowly from the fetid bloated corpse of western fighting games comes a fan title so diabolically perfect in concept that I have to wonder why it hasn't been made before… Terrordrome: Rise of the Boogeymen, is a work in progress fighting game that pits your favorite movie monsters and silver screen psycho killers against each other in gruesome mortal combat. Could it really be true? Did game designers and slasher film fans really come together to combine the two greatest things ever!? Yes, this game is quite real and dare I say very professionally designed!
Originally conceived in 2008, Terrordrome began as a simple fighter borrowing mechanics and moves from the likes of Street Fighter 2 and Mortal Kombat later transforming into a nine character HD monster mash. Each character design is CG rendered much like in Killer Instinct or Clayfighter; a really nice touch given the game's overall theme. I mean, how could you do an idea like this justice with animated sprite design? You gotta go with the 3D look! Another nice touch is how each fighter has their own respective theme and stage design - a typical feature in most fighting games but genuinely awesome for horror movie buffs! At the moment Terrordrome is totally homebrew meaning it will remain free to play unless a bigger company picks up on its design and decides to sell it on another platform but until then you can still enjoy the game offline and online completely free of charge.
Terrordrome's current cast of fighters range from the popular to the B movie midnight murder maestros. Ashley Williams of Evil Dead fame can fire his “boomstick” and use the Necronomicon to summon undead in battle, Leatherface bears his legendary chainsaw, Freddy Krueger employs a multitude of dream attacks including a snake transformation, Chucky's choice of weapons are the classic knife and nailgun, the Tallman's prime weapons are his deadly bladed spheres, Maniac Cop uses deadly police brutality as his weapon, Candyman has a multitude of supernatural and “not the bees!” attacks, Michael Myers can toss Judith Myers' tombstone, Herbert West of the Reanimator series uses several prop weapons including a shovel in combat, Ghostface is a fast slashing character, and finally are dead and undead versions of Jason Voorhees both with their own unique methods of play.
All movesets and download files are available through the game's website as well as a guide on how to combine everything and getting yourself ready for online play. Speaking objectively, Terrordrome isn't going to blow away your typical fighting game fan who enjoys high frames of animation and unlimited combos so if you're one of those guys, you may not like this game (it's made in 2DK2nd) but if you're a horror movie fan you need to try out Terrordrome. Meanwhile I'm going to keep my fingers crossed on a Crypt Keeper announcer.

Hahaha, it sounds nice just from the cast alone. Looks like a lot of thought went into the characters.
