Supergiant Games, the developers behind Bastion, have announced their next title. An isometric action-RPG entitled Transistor.
“We are very, very excited to reveal today a new game we’ve been working on here at Supergiant, a science-fiction-themed action RPG we’re calling Transistor...Transistor invites players to wield an extraordinary weapon of unknown origin as they explore a stunning futuristic city. We’re designing our next game to seamlessly integrate thoughtful strategic planning into a fast-paced action experience, complete with our studio’s signature melding of responsive gameplay and rich atmospheric storytelling. All of us from the Bastion development team are working together again on this new project, with the aid of a handful oftalented new people who’ve joined us since Bastion’s launch.”
The game is beautifully rendered in the same perspective as Bastion, but here the protagonst is a young woman who comes in possession of a powerful weapon after she is almost killed with it by attackers. As the game progresses she learns more about the mysterious weapon and slowly unlocks its power.
Details other than that are scant at the moment, but the game will be playable at PAX East so you can be sure we'll be getting our filthy mitts on this one in Boston.
Transistor is expected to be released in 2014.

As long as it's got the same kind of amazing soundtrack. From the trailer's song it sounds pretty good although I don't think it'll beat out Bastion's.

There was a kid that watched this trailer. He was daft, absolutely daft. Despite being unpredictable with his thoughts and thinking process, one things for sure, he was liking what he saw.
A very colorful cyberpunk world, and plenty of action to keep him busier than a dragon. He doesn't know what or who transistor is, but that absolutely daft kid will enjoy what he finds in his discovery.
