PAX East 2013: State of Decay Developer Walkthrough

By Chris Davis on March 27th, 2013 (10 comments)

You might recall that, during PAX Prime this past August, we stumbled upon this rather charming and potentially deep little zombie game called State of Decay.  It turned out that we liked it so much that we gave it our Game of the Show award.  Now, several months later, Undead Labs brings us an updated build of the game.  Check it out and tell us what you think.

This game seems to have everything most zombie games have been lacking; Basebuilding, looting, OPEN WORLD... That last part where he was being chased by zombies with no weapon, no health and no snacks to replenish stamina is what I've been dreaming of for a long time. (I've had recurring dreams where I was being chased by zombies)

You know, for an XBLA game, this looks absolutely fantastic. The fact that you can go into almost every single building is intriguing enough, let alone all the other freedoms. I'm diggin' it.
