PAX East 2013: Legend of Dungeon Interview and Gameplay

Legend of Dungeon is a beautiful procedurally generated dungeon crawler with a retro-aesthetic feel by developer Robot Loves Kitty. Starting off in a tavern -like all good adventures should- 4 players choose their characters and head off to dive through 26 levels of monster infected darkness, obtain treasure and then fight their way back up. 

The simplistic nature of the graphics obfuscate the level of depth underneath. Potions will interact with each other, beer will make you drunk -while also giving you extra experience-, dead players become ghosts that can still interact with the world and a dynamic lighting system bathes the world in an unexpected beauty. There is a lot to say about Legend of Dungeon, but for now check out our interview with one of the two-person development team -a husband and wife duo- and the gameplay/screens below.

    Awesome - this game is definitely on my radar after seeing the gameplay and setting. Hopefully I can find people to co-op through it with. Good coverage guys. Also - shout out to everyone that turned and waved at the camera during the interviews. I wonder if they think they're on live television.

    I'm definitely going to share this with family. It reminded me of playing Gauntlet, but instead of looking from above, I'm looking horizontally. Pretty Cool that a husband and wife created this together.

    Not much of a fan of rogue-likes, but I might try this one, looks fun. Also, what is that Killing Floor thing in the back? I'd love to see something new from Tripwire.
