Game Ideas: Part the Fourth

Surprise Surprise, right in your eyes, I’m back to bask in golden graham glory! (A reference to a great TV show and a random alliteration thrown in as well) Welcome to the ongoing Game ideas series where I describe several games I want to create, but don’t have the skills to do so. As per the normal, Parts ONE TWO and THREE are listed on here, in case you never got such luck in reading them.

Here we go…. Game Ideas! (Part The Fourth)

#7)Bloody Investigations (I name drop a friend in this one)

As Elliott O’ Day, newly relocated PI, your days of solving crimes soon goes to shit as you find yourself on the receiving end of a vicious assassination. On the other hand, Your actually been dealt with this type of death numerous times within your lifetime, and have won countless bets against Death. In spite of this, Death has gotten sick and tired of reviving Elliot, and decided to revive only his blood. In order to be brought back in whole, Elliott must solve his own murder while staying alive as a bloodpool.

The gameplay somewhat resembles a puzzler by figuring out how to navigate the levels(You’re allowed to move about along the walls and grounds but always leave behind a trail of blood, which can tip off other villains where you could be.) while locating clues within the level and having enough blood to reach the exit. As a living bloodpool, you can absorb (which allows some possession of certain items), split up (to activate distance objects) and slight shapeshifting (depending on the room temp.) to create deaths. Essentially the bloodpool size is your health and as you move about, the lifebar slowly drains down and Hazards, such as carpets, cracks and even coagulations will drain it down faster. So in order to replenish life, you must figure out how to effetely kill off people within a stylish way. (“Why not just trip them?” You may ask? Well death is the one who gets to decide how much is replenished and he likes them kills to be extra violent)


One such scenario: A goons is sipping on coffee while chillaxing by a sofa.

(Method #1) Slowly seep into the couch and quickly force the couch to eat the goon (Disadvantage: drains lots of blood, but absurd death awards plenty of blood if successful)

(Method #2) Craw along the celling and drop off a tiny bit of yourself into the coffee, thus poising the goon. (While lowered blood drain, the style isn’t as replenishing)

(Method #3) Lower the room temperature, crawl above to the celling, above the goon, and drop as a frozen spikey ball.(Even lower blood drain, but slower movement due to coldness)

(Method #4) Raise the room temperature, and boil yourself upwards onto the goon.(Much faster blood drain, but faster movement due to heat)
Etc.

When you finally beat a level, the camera pans over the entire trail you created while moving about, it’s more of an astatic pleasure of seeing the whole carnage left about. Afterwards, death will scoop what’s left of you up in a disposable ice cream carton, and teleports you to your office. In-between levels you will switch over into a different puzzle solving set by connecting certain clues you’ve gain throughout your strange investigations. Old clues may actually be used more than once, such as a matchbox that gives a new level while later in the game it may be used to connect a different person to a another crime, which unlocks a hidden bonus level.

#8)Shotgun Messiah (I’ve had this game idea for quite a while, like 5th grade WHILE back.)-

The setting is a failed futuristic steampunk timeline, where Gadgets galore weren’t enough to prevent a new wasteland from happening. However, the Summerset fires, an ancient race of prevalent doo-gooders who foresaw such an event from happing, started to build an ultimate weapon and other “Tools” to aid the future. The protagonist is actually one of the past Summerset dweller’s s kids; A custom character, who was cryogenically encased into a Time Capsule by accident. While exploring the new landscape, after awakening to the horror of knowing everyone you knows is dead, you stumble across the ancient weapon near your location. Basically you only have one weapon for the entire game, a customizable shotgun that is so powerful; those who are not “chosen” will likely have their own arms ripped out of the sockets due to the sheer force of the blast.

Most of the game takes place over several years as you train and acquire new tools to defeat the current ruler. (Who was actually another Summerset Fire child, a childhood friend, who you get to customize their appearance as well, who was originally meant to be the hero. But due to your actions of taking the first Time Capsule by accident, the child was forced to build a shoddy second Time Capsule that malfunctions and causes the kid to awake much earlier before you did. This antagonist has gone mad due to awaking as a 45 year old and failing to locate the ancient weapon. )

I kinda picture the main game as an old schooled Castlevania /Metroid structure item hunter where hidden items are inaccessible until the appropriate upgrade is acquired. Main explorations takes place in desert factories, where old gears malfunction and steam still escapes to this day, while there’s a hub town where you stock up and partake in various events to rank your status. From low grade titles as “Shrimp Smeller” or “Metal Gear Lover” all the way to the highest rank “The Shotgun Messiah”.



Enemies will firstly consist of simple worn out past creations left about such as gropits, little mechanical frogs from music boxes whose cryptic tunes ring out to this day, or Brackets, medical braces that have neural implants stick kicking at odd motions. Eventually you’ll come across normal humans’ felons, such as Plates, who are standard “AGURH I PUCN TILL I BLEED!” types. BUT later stages will consist of the ruler’s army coming out against you, which are cyborg like beings, such as delxtos, agitated humans who exchanged their lower half’s for electronic grasshopper like legs, or BoBos, planet of the apes like thugs who replaced there already strong arms with long flexible poles(With tiny hands at the end).

• The shotgun itself has multitudes of gears, rivets and switches to allow for add-ons, such as:

• The “Boomerang” attachment (Allows 1/3 of your shots to return back, to conserve ammo.)

• The “Buttery Biscuits” attachment (Don’t have enough time to allow natural healing? Well shove several assortments of breakfast meals into the barrels and blast your face away with instant health.)

• The ”Overloaded” attachment (Extends both barrels apart into one mega barrel to fire a cannon shot)

• The “Boiler” attachment(A faulty old coffee maker is integrated to create steam based shots)

• The “Slugs” attachment(A starter attachment that literally fires live slugs, later upgrades will allow mutated and even micro slugs as well)

(Note that only a select few attachments can be equipped at a time.)

While some may argue that a shotgun itself can be too repetitive, fear not as further upgrades unlock two other shooting methods. You automatically have the standard shotgun, which is a double barrel style, which allows such abilities as double jump (Shoot the ground for that extra kick) or blast away hidden walls with ease. Now later on you’ll be able to detach the main leaver holding the structure, thus this will allow duel wielding single barrel shotgun style abilities, such as multi- lock-on’s( to separate targets) or shoot a detachable claw(To hit those high walls and to drag in foes) . Lastly when both barrels are aligned into an extra-long barrel sight, you’ll create the sniper style, which has far reaching slug rounds (not related to the “Slugs” attachment, as these are not alive or a mollusk) or a straight up melee weapon.

Thanks for reading the following post and I guess I just want to ramble off for a bit about myself, not in a bragging sense but just want to share a small tidbit. I’ve given up sodas even since I graduated high school. (Class of ‘12) I used to pound down those syrupy wateriness a tad bit too much, and I didn’t voluntary choose to give them up. After graduating high school, I stayed over at my older brother’s house for a few months, and while there I had the common decency NOT to steal his stash of sodas. Then after, I moved back to my aunt’s house, and soon discovered the absent of sodas had left my taste buds to split both carbonated and syrup flavoring. Gotta say, I haven’t had the urge to drink sodas at all, I guess I was under the assumption that its addiction works the same as alcohol. (I never tried any alcoholic beverages, as I abide by the law since I’m currently 19. However, I did accidentally eat several jello shots when I was young, while watching the beavis and butt-head movie.)

Ok if you skipped that above paragraph, I don’t blame you, as it was a few too many lines of text. Thanks for reading Game Ideas: Part the Fourth and clearly I’m starting to go mad with the realization that I’ve been making these post go longer than normal. I don’t know when I’ll write the fifth Games ideas, as I plan on catching up on some anime shows I’ve been told to watch.
