If you haven't played Dust: An Elysian Tale, you should, because it's a gem. Designed almost entirely by independent designer Dean Dodrill, the game is a marriage of satisfying action-RPG combat, metroidvania-style exploration, and a sumptuous art style, with some great writing and voice acting thrown in for good measure. It even wound up on a few of the 4playernetwork staff's top 10 games of 2012 lists.
Dust was previously an Xbox Live Arcade exclusive, but at a PAX East panel Dean Dodrill announced that the game is coming to Steam, possibly as soon as April, according to a report by Polygon. However, a release date hasn't been set just yet. Dodrill also mentioned that a Dust sequel is a possibility, stating that "I do have a lot of ideas for Dust 2".
I wouldn't say no to Dust 2, although I hope it won't take three and a half years to make like Dust 1 did. When Dust: An Elysian Tale finds its way onto Steam, go give it a try if you haven't already. Check out the Steam announcement trailer below.
