How many 'epic moments' can you fit into one trailer? Well Square Enix is trying there best to find out with the new Tomb Raider trailer you see above. Called “survival” it shows just that. Lara Croft surviving every type of catastrophe you can possibly think up to fill three minutes. Needless to say, she does a whole lot of running, falling, shooting and yelling.

But it also looks really, really, cool. I know I'm supposed to be a naysayer here, and especially after what we've just been through, but I'm seeing a lot of memorable moments taking place in this game that look to make it a blast to play even if it does have the action turned up to 11.

And I hardly even mind the bit of WUB WUB I'm hearing. Maybe I'm just in a good mood today.

They've already shown most of the footage in that trailer. I've always held off from pre-ordering this game. This game really interests me but nothing they have shown has yet to convince me to get it. They need to show more of this game, maybe show other varieties of game-play aside from the sneaking and shooting.

Did they do that whole "Let's show the most action-esque scenes in the trailer with some WUBz to pump all the kids up" for this game? Also...erm....where's the whole Tomb Raider aspect to this Tomb Raider reboot? I just see Far Cry 3 with boobs.

Much better trailer than the one that shows her just as being beaten up and super vulnerable. This is a balance between strength and challenges. Not bad...

The best things about the older tomb raider games were the dangerous platforming and the exploration based puzzle solving. From what I've seen of this game so far there doesn't seem to be either of those things, so I must ask the question: Why even call this game Tomb Raider? I'm not a fan of the Uncharted series in terms of gameplay, so this game, so far, looks like it will be completely uninteresting to me.

Hopefully this game proves my fears wrong, though. I really really hope it does.

To be honest it didn't really amaze me. It just looked like Uncharted, I'm not a fan of set pieces I want original, fun gameplay.

Shoots a harpoon arrow, hits a tower, pulls it back, whole tower goes down - new Tomb Raider.

    This looks really bad.

    Like, really kind of cheap.

Why do they keep showing the same shit, over and over, and over?

    That scares me.

Also, why does her hair always stay in the same position?

Gah. I miss Tomb Raider, now more than ever.

really sick of trailers having no, or near no actual gameplay. if it were a david cage game, i'd get it. but when it doesn't have the gameplay you can tell it's really leaning on the "cinematic experience" angle. i played AC3 and hitman already, really don't want to get dooped again. also, if i wanted to play uncharted, i could just pop in uncharted.

Looks like a Tomb Raider game to me!
