Twelve new Tomb Raider screens have been released today that show Lara creeping and sneaking around some of the same areas that we've been looking at for awhile now. Personally, I was hoping to be getting some fresh looks at the game by this time but we're mostly getting more of the same.

These particular shots focus more on Lara's sneaking and fighting abilities with her taking cover (of course) and charging into hazardous situations with bow at the ready. There are also a good amount of browns...browns everywhere. Nor do they really show of the verticality of the game...which we know is in there from the demo video's we've been shown.

I do like the weapon enhancement system shown in the last screen and it would be great if this was extended to your other equipment as well. Perhaps even allow you to create different builds for Lara if you want to make her have a greater ability to avoid combat rather than partake in it.

Tomb Raider is slated for release in March of 2013, we know now that she will not be swimming so let's hope Crystal Dynamics is taking the extra time to beef up other portions of the game.

Avoid combat? I don't think I've ever played a Tomb Raider game where you avoided combat. Angel of Darkness is the only Tomb Raider that I can think of which had sneaking in it and that game was universally panned.

I'm still not sure how I feel about this game, but you're right - SO MUCH BROWN.

"to create different builds for Lara if you want to make her have a greater ability to avoid combat rather than partake in it."

This would really sell the game for me, and probably a lot of other people. You can still stick to the basic Lara can jump, Lara can sneak etc. But more defined would be neat.

Ugh. No swimming makes me a sad, sad panda, but I do love me some weapon customization.

That wolf is chewing on her leg. This game is going to be ridiculous.

Lara seems totally fine getting gnawed on by a wolf :P
Still interested, despite that one major game mechanic missing.

The setting really reminds me of RE4... However can't say I have any hopes at all for this game really.
