In one of the stranger, and slightly more hilarious video game errors to come across my desk, it seems that some people who purchased Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (an Activision game) are finding that their Disk 2 actually contains Mass Effect 2 (an EA game). This sudden and unexpected face-off of rivalries - surely the effect of a manufacturing error- is keeping one half of the game out gamers' hands.

People have been posting YouTube videos, like the one below, and posting to Reddit airing their grievances but Activision (or EA for that matter) have not yet commented.

I like to imagine EA Special Operatives breaking into the locked-down Activision factories and secretly imprinting Mass Effect 2 code over BLOPS2 code in the dead of night in an attempt to take down their rival through cloak-and-dagger subterfuge.

Really, someone just loaded the wrong box into a machine.

How does this even happen. I heard that also if you got a 360 copy of Lego Lord of the Rings, you might have gotten a demo disc of that game instead.

Just another argument toward digital distribution, I guess.

For people encountering this issue at least they can still just activate their serial on steam and it will download the required files for them.

The best thing about Black Ops 2 is that it comes with Mass Effect 2 CD.

So when will the U.S. government start arresting people of EA and Activision for merging their companies and creating a monopoly?
