Jonatan "Cactus" Söderström, creator of Hotline Miami has announced via Twitter that they are beginning preliminary work on Hotline Miami 2.

Söderström took to twitter earlier today announcing they were beginning to go over possible music tracks for the next title saying, "Working while listening to the sweet tunes of a preliminary Hotline Miami 2 soundtrack that we've put together during the weekend."

Eurogamer is also reporting that Söderström added "Last time we had nine different musicians doing the soundtrack. Looks like a couple of them might do more tracks for the sequel, but we've been looking at some other bands as well. Want to keep it fresh."

Hotline Miami was one of our favorite games of this year here at 4Player, so much so that I fear that perhaps we didn't talk about it nearly enough. Its Super Meat Boy / Smash TV gameplay certainly pulled me in, and the amazing soundtrack played a big part in that. I'm glad to see that they are on the road to giving us even more.

There are other games in which i would say "its too early for a sequel" but this game i can understand. Its not worked on by hundreds of people. This is a game in which can have the same look and feel and still be a great sequel. More is better with this game. Of course adding new weapons, and ways to murder is great.
( which i think he will do.)

The question is Hotline New York or Hotline LA?

didnt the game come out a month ago? way to destroy the sales of ur first game. Who would want to buy the first game when a better second game is gonne come out soon (im guessing its soon because its not gonna take them forever to make it because they already have a sound track and the levels/work from the DLC that this was suppose to be)....the went with the saints row 3 route of turning a planned DLC into a squeal instead

Since the original took some inspiration from American Psycho, will Hotline Miami 2 star Mila Kunis?

One of the best games I've played this year. I'm excited.
