November 2nd marked a year to the day that the announcement trailer for Grand Theft Auto V arrived.  Up until this month Rockstar had been in a perpetual state of darkness, publishing a screenshot or two every now and then to remind you that, yes, GTA V is still a thing.  We were due to get a trailer a couple weeks back but, because of Hurricane Sandy and Rockstar New York's HQ being out of power, we had to wait.  But here now, the wait has finally ended.  Not that you care however since you clicked the play button on the video above before even reading this paragraph.  You did, didn't you?  Come on, admit it.  Don't lie.

As noted in the trailer, you will be playing as three characters, not one: Michael, a retired bank robber and father of a would-be 'gangster' son, Trevor, a perturbed drug-addled sociopath, and Franklin, a repo man for a rather unsavory car dealership.  Players can switch between the three characters during story missions to complete objectives as well as change instantaneously while exploring Los Santos.

I'll let the trailer speak for itself but I thought you should note that we now have a launch window: Spring 2013.  Given Rockstar's history of releases over the past several years I think it is fair to suggest that we'll be looking at a May launch.

I liked the look of this trailer, they gave us more to look at; Guard dogs (!), Trains, moto bikes, jumping outta planes (from outta cars). Even a better glimpse of the three men we'll be playing. I am pumped for this.

I'm already pretty in love with these characters, and the writing seems top notch. Hopefully the gameplay does some interesting things as well.

I've already pre-ordered this game a month ago, I can't wait for this game to come out.

I'm sorta surprised at the amount of humor this trailer has in it. The previous games had a couple of scenes to chuckle at, sure, but this is much more like an action movie. The story's got me intrigued, for sure.

Now this looks like the kind of craziness I've come to expect from a Grand Theft Auto game! I was unhappy to hear we'd be controlling three characters, but now, I don't know, they all look so damn interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing how it feels.
Great trailer, got me pumped for this :D

Rockstar has never disappointed me. Glad to see that this game will continue that trend.

Heh, the number of the house the black guys were looking for was 3175 which is 5/7/13 backwards. Clever move, Rockstar.
