We're in the process of counting down to the release of Far Cry 3, and as we slowly -ever sooo slowly- move forward in time, Ubisoft have put together a new 10 minutes video that takes all of Far Cry 3's aspects and puts them into one nice and tidy film.

It goes over the various aspects of the games singleplayer, co-op and multiplayer offering while also touching on aspects of the island characters, crafting, weapon modding...the works. It's fairly inclusive and should be a must-watch for anyone who has been gnawing on the leather in anticipation of next weeks release.

Also, details of a day-one patch for the PC have also been released. In what is being called a “critical patch” it makes fixes on both the singleplayer and multiplayer portions of the game, as well as making improvements to stability, the UI (I really hope it allows the IU to get closer to the edges of the screen), and texture issues. No word on if -or when- this patch will be available for console versions of the game. Or if the console versions even have the offending issues.

Some might complain, but I've never had a problem with day-one patches provided they were within reason. (Let's keep it below 5 gigs ok Nintendo?) I want the developers of a game to continue working to the bitter end, and beyond. If disks have to go gold but there are still fixes to be done...then fix them. I would rather have a faulted game fixed on day one than just end up with a faulted game.

"At the end of each battle, everyone watches while you punish the top player on the losing team"..."skin what you kill and trade the pelts for weapons and ammunition"..."meet a pretty local lady" (cuts to shot of prostitute)..."think of this wide open world as your oyster"...

I can't wait for a Martin Sheen lookalike to show up halfway through the game, saying, "They told me that you had gone totally insane, and that your methods were unsound...I don't see any method at all, sir", before he bludgeons me to death while "The End" by The Doors plays in the background.

Am I the only one that thinks punishing a player on losing team is awesome? This is even better than TF2 spanking after your team wins.
