Twice a year CD Projekt RED, developers behind the Witcher series as well as the upcoming Cyberpunk title, and Good Old Games (GOG) hold a joint conference to announce their latest developments and plans for the future.  Today was the Fall conference so, without further ado, here is what was announced.

GOG

  • GOG is now available on the Mac platform and is currently compatible with OS X versions 10.6.8, 10.7 and 10.8.  50 titles are currently available including The Witcher (of course), FTL, Syndicate and more.  They are running a promotion now that can net you The Witcher Enhanced Edition, Crusader: No Remorse, Sim City 2000, Postal, Little Big Adventure and Theme Hospital for $20.  New Mac customers can also receive nine different games for free.
  • GOG announced an even better deal for Interplay's catalog though.  Designed like a humble bundle, you can purchase eight games for however much you want to pay.  If you spend more than what the average user is paying you can get twenty titles.  However, if you spend a minimum of $34.99 you earn 32 games, 21 soundtracks and 721 various different items associated with them.  That's awesome.
  • Three new titles will be added to GOG soon.  Puddle, a fluid-based puzzle game, is now available for $10.  Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, a rather good looking platformer which has been Greenlit on Steam, will arrive on October 23rd for $15.  Finally, Deponia 2: Chaos on Deponia, an adventure title, will arrive on November 6th for $20.  Each of these titles is currently on sale though so, if you're interested, get them while you can.
  • GOG is also testing support for Windows 8.  They will be waiting to release support for it however until after Microsoft releases the first set of patches.

The Witcher News

  • The Witcher 2 Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition has sold 2 million units worldwide.  It is well worthy of that number.
  • W2AKEE is now available on the Mac.  Those who own the PC version on GOG get the Mac version for free.
  • CD Projekt RED has also been hard a work on a rather simple to use mod kit.  Called the REDkit, the mod tools will be available in the first half of 2013.  The mod tools are currently in a closed beta with several modding teams.

Cyberpunk News

  • CDPR also released some fresh new details.  First off, the game is now titled Cyberpunk 2077, set fifty years after the Cyberpunk 2020 game.
  • To bridge the gap, CDPR and series creator Mike Pondsmith will be creating a detailed evolution of events, items and people to explain what has gone on in the meantime.
  • The game will be set in Night City, the site of Cyberpunk 2020.
  • Cyberpunk 2077 will be an RPG sandbox title.
  • The game will have its own blog at Cyberpunk.net and that will detail the development of the game.  You can also download a new wallpaper which I've included an image of below.

Yay more good news from a developer I have come to love. I am very excited for their new game although I hope that you do not need to have previous experience with the original game to understand the lore in the upcoming video game.
