Kojima Productions opens la studio

Looks like Kojima Productions is currently spreading its wings and flying to the west coast of the United States.

A job listing found on Gamasutra is calling for " skillful creators, senior programmers, artists and game developers" with a keen interest to "developing the technology, systems and tools programming for the core foundation of 3D action game."

Studios expand all the time but this one is of particular interest since during the initial phases of the Fox Engine development -the powerhouse engine behind Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zereos- Hideo Kojima took a number of trips to US Studios, including Naughty Dog, to review their work methodology. In particular, how they went about building engines from the ground up. During interviews, Kojima has stated that he took this learning experience with him back to Japan to integrate into their own development mindset.

It's no surprise, at least to me, that Kojima Productions would take this extra step.

So do you live in the LA area and think you have what it takes? Here is what they're looking for.

Main Work Duties:
Defining and developing the technology, systems and tools programming for the core foundation of 3D action game.

Qualifications:
- Strong passion to make top quality games
- Over 4 years of experience as a professional Gameplay Programmer for PC/PS3/Xbox360 for action games
- Excellent C/C++ language programming skills
- Familiar with the test driven development practice/environment
- Excellent 3D math skills
- Ability to approach the complex issues and problems creatively and flexibly
- Ability to stay on schedule and approach the complex issue creatively and flexibly in a time constrained environment.

Interesting, I hope the studio is a success and then there can hopefully be a sequel to ZOE 2.
