Though this might only be of interest to those in the industry, or those who really get into the nitty gritty, the ESA has announced an agreement with the City of Los Angeles that will keep E3 there for the next three years.

The tale first starts back at E3 2012 when word began leaking out that the 2013 location was still under discussion. This was compounded by the fact that the "See you next year!" banner was conspicuously missing from the exit doors during the final day. At issue was the impending construction of a new stadium adjacent to the convention center that was threatening to completely eliminate one of the main halls used for E3. However, the ESA has stated that they have come to an agreement with the city that construction would not impact the convention, and in the process this agreement was extended for the next three years.

“We are proud to partner with Los Angeles for another three years. The City serves as a strong backdrop for the video game industry’s biggest announcements and we look forward to remaining in LA,” said Michael D. Gallagher, CEO of the ESA, which represents the U.S. video game industry. “Video games are a dominant force in the global entertainment marketplace and there is no better place to display that than Los Angeles. We look forward to continuing our relationship with the City and AEG.”

Personally, I like LA and enjoy the time I get to spend in the city during E3 each year, so I'm just fine with it staying where it is. Some have hoped that the convention might be moving to the Austin area but, honestly, do we really want to be running around from place to place in 102 degree heat? I didn't think so.

I heard the other places considered where New York City, San Fransisco, and New Orleands. Atlanta is also rumored to have been considered.

San Francisco would have been an interesting move if E3 were to move. The weather in San Francisco very rarely goes above 100.

Regardless of where it is, I can never afford to go to E3 so I'm just going to pout.
