With 2012's E3 Expo a week around the corner, I've decided to crunch down the list of games officially expected to be at the show down to five of my most anticipated, as of late.

X-Com: Enemy Unknown
I saw this at PAX east and walked away confident that Enemy Unknown will do good by those of us who remember the original DOS game.  I'm really excited to hear hands-on impressions via console-controller, with hopes of positive feedback.

Persona 4 Arena
Arc System Works + Shin Megami Tensi...enough said! I'm always excited when Arc SW announces another 2-D fighter, and one set in the Persona universe should only make this one of its more popular titles in recent years.

Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
When Studio Ghibli's name is attached to anything besides an Anime feature-film you should be excited.  Level-5 has also proven themselves in the gaming-front enough for me to gamble on Ni no Kuni being something special when it hits state-side.

Super Mario Wii U
C'mon...IT'S MARIO!

The Last of Us
If this isn't at E3, I'll be surprised.  Naughty Dog are masters of making cinematic-gaming experiences, and the thought of a new franchise from them is orgasmic. Especially one that seems so "far-left", in tone, of what they did with their Uncharted franchise.

So there you have it, free of Halos and Assassins. Commenters, be sure to leave your personal fist-full. Check back for more E3 coverage here at 4Player because the ball has yet to start rollin'.

Yeah The Last of Us also seems like one of my most anticipated. I just hope it doesn't feel like a uncharted game in a new shell. After playing I Am Alive, i feel like thats the tone it needs to go. As for other games, i'm actually excited for the games that they haven't shown. I always like Huge reveals that no one expected.

Mario, do people really still get exited about Mario? I'm hoping for some surprise announcements because nothing really excites me right now. Well, scratch that. I'm looking forward to Dead Space 3 if they'll show it and hopping for some Thief 4 news, but that's about it.

Finished 二の国 (The Second World - ni no kuni) last week, amazing game.

Graphics to drool at, fantastic soundtrack and a surprisingly deep combat system towards the end of it.

Oh and the story is pretty good too. My Japanese is pretty rough but I got the gist of it. Gorgeous animation from Ghibli.

The best part of the show, and the reason to watch I think, are the surprise reveals. Hopefully alot of new IPs in those announcements.
