THQ has been undertaking an ongoing reorganization lately in an attempt to bring further value to the company and focus on what they have called "core gaming." The latest appendage to be scuttled is ValuSoft, the shovelware component of THQ  they aquired almost a decade ago.

But do not shed tears for ValuSoft. Not only have they been picked up by another company already, one who's focus is primarily on that cheap and movable software type, they never really put out anything you've wanted to play anyway. Harsh words, sure, but unless you ever found yourself engrossed in Mastercook 11, reaping an adrenaline high from 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker 2, or ignoring shiving and prison rapes in Prison Tycoon 4: SuperMax (actually wait a minute...that one sounds kind of awesome), then you know where I am coming from.

This continuing reorg is a positive move for THQ,  a publisher that certainly has  a lot of life left in its old bones.  Hopefully Darksiders II can give them a hefty boost.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some bribes to take in Prison Tycoon 4.

Dang, more respect for THQ. I've been a fan ever since I tried out the Dawn of War series. Looking forward to what they've got next.

I wonder if this reorganization of theirs will include the return of Red Faction. Honestly, that series shouldn't have been halted in the first place, as it is one of their few money-making hits.
