Bethesda Softworks have finally released the official reveal trailer for their assassin/action/parkour game, Dishonored.

We've been covering the game so much in bits and pieces up to now that it feels a little strange calling this a 'reveal' trailer, but it is what it is. The video itself does not show any gameplay, but certainly gives us a great idea of the world, the art style, and possibly how things will look as you navigate.  You can really see the influence of  Viktor Antonov (creator of City 17 in Half Life 2) at work in both the character and world designs here, as well as a well actualized cross of Steampunk and uber fancy victorian.

Dishonored is surely a game we're excited about here and one we'll continue to watch. Hopefully there will be more info (and gameplay video please) soon.

...I like this guy, he cuts right to the chase, didn't even let the bad guy finish, or really start for that matter, what I assume would've been a "there is more to this than you know" monologue a la AC

Pretty excited for this. Looks like an interesting setting and story line. From what I've read, it has potential for some pretty intricate stealth mechanics, and you have choice as to whether you want to be unseen or kill everyone. Harvey's description of the morality system for gameinformer was really promising, too. Quite far from the bioware wheel.

I hope you don't have to wear that mask he uses the whole game, as it rules out the possibility of hiding in plain site a la Hitman. Otherwise it seems more like a mixture of Thief and Mirror's Edge with RPG elements, which don't get me wrong is great, but it can be deeper than that.

This looks really interesting. I just hope that melee gameplay be better than in Elder Scrolls series.
