It's only been a few months since Resident Evil 6 was officially unveiled to the world but Capcom felt it necessary to provide the world with a new trailer for their annual Captivate press event. This new and, once again, leaked trailer provides us with interesting answers to your questions which I shall provide below.
- The Eastern Europe outbreak occurs six months before the outbreak at Tall Oaks
- After investigating the Tall Oaks outbreak, Leon Kennedy and companion Helena Harper have their deaths faked in order to investigate the Chinese infection.
- Rumors about the unknown male protagonist having a connection to Albert Wesker turns out to be true: he is Wesker's son.
- Wesker Jr.'s female companion turns out to be Sherry Birkin, the girl Leon and Claire rescued in Resident Evil 2.
- Ada Wong appears to be the primary antagonist of the game.
- The outbreak in all three locations is the result of a new infection called the C Virus.
Probably the most interesting thing to note about the trailer is that the game has a new release date: October 2nd. This is a push UP of nearly seven weeks. Any game that pushes up its release date is a good thing but, given Capcom's recent DLC decisions regarding Operation Raccoon City I'm fearful this means that they have taken something out of development. I can't bring myself to complain though: that's the day after my birthday.

Also, Leon and Chris one-on-one?! Seems like Leon's a lil bit conflicted (can you blame him?).

Honestly, who cares if Resident Evil isn't what it used be when it started. If a game is good, it's good. Regardless if it's survival horror or just a third person shooter.

This peeks my interest, but as Chris Davis said, by pushing up the release date, they might have removed some stuff in the games just so they can bypass it for DLC's just sickens me. Hope this ain't true...but I have a felling it will.

I gotta admit, if some colossal catastrophe occurred and every major character in this game died it would be one hell of a cap to finish off the RE franchise. Made me think of a real movie trailer: I'm hyped.

I think they should pedal back on the rate that they're unveiling plot-points like this.
We didn't need to know he was Wesker's "son" this early. It would have been a great reveal in-game rather than just being a blatant name-recognition selling point.
