Conflicting opinions about the newest entry in the Devil May Cry series exist just as strongly here at 4Player as it does on the rest of the internet.  With each trailer though it gets closer to what we remember the franchise being.  For Capcom's 2012 Captivate event the publisher unleashed not one but three trailers for you to consume.  The first one, a story trailer, is what you see above.  The other two are entirely gameplay-oriented, showing off the game's combat as well as its movement scheme.

To me the game is shaping up quite nicely.  I have faith that Ninja Theory can pull off a great game here.  Here's hoping it's playable at E3 2012.

I'm really looking forward to this. See, you can't judge a game on it's pre-alpha gameplay and teaser trailer, so don't release it. Anyone else getting a Bayonetta vibe from this whole "alternate reality where combat takes place" thing?

I think they've definitely nailed the Devil May Cry attitude. Ninja Theory is good for those types of things so I can't say I'm surprised really.

However I still have to wait until I have it in my hands. Ultimately all the flash means nothing if the game doesn't feel good to play. They certainly are on the right path though.

Fantastic! I knew Ninja Theory was gonna pull it off, and i'm not a big DMC fan in the first place. I'm pretty hyped up for this game.

The only DMC I liked was the original, one the sequel's never did it for me however ninja theory may be able to pull off an enjoyable DMC game they did not fail to deliver in their previous 2 games lets hoping they can pull it off a third time.

Only thing I have a problem with the game is that... Well that guy is being called Dante!
If they would just chance the name, it would be a lot more well received if they stopped being stubborn and chanced the name, I would actually be happy to call this game a good looking next DMC :)
