Project Soul and Namco Bandai have announced that Soul Calibur 5 has gone gold. The game is set to be released in the US on January 31st much to the excitement of Assassins Creed fans who will have the chance to play as Ezio this time around, and finally getting a taste of that sweet, sweet nectar that Star Wars fans heartily guzzled down in Soul Calibur IV.
Personally, I'm really looking forward to the nonsensical intro voice overs that always come before each fight. In order to get ready for launch, I've developed some of my own which I intend to send to Namco Bandai in the hope that they'll use them for Soul Calibur 6. Here's a few:
"A man faces his destiny as the sun shines its rays upon his face. He wants toast, but first...VICTORY!"
"A weapon in hand, and the fate of humanity in the balance! A war cry from a mighty bird. SQUAW!!! SQUAW!!! SQUAW!!! Don't you dare fuck with me!"
"Well we're movin on up, to the east side. To a deluxe apartment in the sky. Movin on up, to the east side. We finally got a piece of the pie!!!"
Hopefully they'll write me back.

ehhhhh... Not feeling the love with this one, although the character creator trailer was very neat. Some of the new characters are wierd.

Nice how the first thing we see is some kid who's a good fighter but doesn't take things seriously and likes to eat. Real fucking original there, Namco. If he has an aloof rival, I'll just vomit.

Having skipped over Soul Calibur's 2, 3 and 4, I'm ready to give the franchise another whirl.
Gonna be fun to be Ezio. Be even more fun if I could play as crumbly old codger Ezio as well.
