Inversion, the new third-person shooter by Sabre Interactive has one big premise. Namely, your ability to turn the world upside down at will, and in effect change gravity to get the upper hand in battle.  It's a good premise to be sure, and can really be the foundation for not only some great battle sequences, but some truly imaginative level design as well.

I suppose that the main source of my apprehension is everything else. The shooting looks OK, the characters seem as mundane as they come and the story, which seems to hinge itself on our frequently utilized 'invaders from another dimension trope' will need some truly inspired twists to keep itself interesting.

The screens below seem to be from the multiplayer portion of the game, and I'm really interested to see how the Inversion mechanic works here. Can anyone Invert? What's to stop the world from just continually spinning during battle? But on the other hand, that would be really interesting. Do the levels, perhaps change and evolve as the battle commences much like the tracks do during a race in Motorstorm: Apocalypse?

If these things are implemented in an imaginitave way, Inversion has the possibility of being a breakout hit in 2012. However, there really isn't much in the way of hype for this title, and its awkwardly bare wiki page leaves me in doubt that Namco Bandai is giving it the support it needs.

I'm dissapointed with myself, I completely forgot this game even existed.
