Are you a fan of  From Software (developers of Dark Souls and Demon's Souls) and also have a special place in your heart for Mech combat? Then you'll probably want to mark March 20th on your calendar, since that's the day From Software and  Namco Bandai release Armored Core 5.

From Software has stated that the fifth installment of the series will feature a higher emphasis on tactical gameplay and use of terrain rather than the more twitch-based gameplay we've seen from the last few Armored Core games. Additionally, the game will feature objective based, five-on-five team-based online battles.

It's been awhile since we've last seen the series. Armored Core 4 was released back in 2006 to generally temped critical reception. Hopefully From Software has learned a lot over the years and can hit this one out of the park.

I've been playing a little bit of Front Mission for snes and it revived my love for mechs. Having experienced Dark Souls, I have faith that From Software will make this game fantastic. Although I don't know their other games besides Demon's/Dark Souls.

I am big fan of the Armored Core series, but the twitched base gameplay ran me away. This is great news, and I look forward to Armored Core 5.

Looking at it's development so far, it's not going to be all that different from past games in the series. I think the only reason this will sell any better than previous titles is simply from name recognition with the developer. I've played these games on & off with my younger brother since AC2: Another Age, don't expect a sleeper hit like Demon's Souls is all I'm going to say.
