The time has finally come! Starting tomorrow at 7PM, we will gather around the round table to put a bow on 2011 and make the transition into 2012! I have outlined our plans below for the recording and the subsequent podcast release schedule for your listening pleasure.

Over the course of the next week, you will hear our detailed impressions of the games and industry leaders that left the biggest impact in 2011. We have organized our award categories into 4 seperate podcasts (10 categories each) and will be releasing them over the course of the next week. The recording shedule is as follows:

The shows will be broadcasted live HERE!

Tuesday, January 10, 2012 @ 7PM CST - Podcasts 1 & 2
Wednesday, January 11, 2012 @ 3PM CST - Podcasts 3 & 4

    • Podcast 1: Technical categories (Sound design, visuals, etc...)
    • Podcast 2: Creative categories (Characters, New IP, etc...)
    • Podcast 3: Personal categories (Disappointments, surprise, etc...)
    • Podcast 4: Personal Top 10 Lists

For the full category break down, click here.

Once the shows have been recorded, they will be released on iTunes one at a time over the course of the next 4 days. However, Joseph has recorded the Cocktail Time shows in the exact same format and will be posting them with the same release schedule. The projected release schedule is as follows:

Thursday, January 12, 2012: Podcast 1 + Cocktail Time 1
Friday, January 13, 2012: Podcast 2 + Cocktail Time 2
Saturday, January 14, 2012: Podcast 3 + Cocktail Time 3
Sunday, January 15, 2012: Podcast 4 + Cocktail Time 4

There you have it folks, 8 podcasts for you to listen to and reflect back on one of the best years in gaming! However, the bow on top will come in the form of a post early next week. I will be collecting the winner sheets from all of us here at 4Player and presenting the top 3 games of 2011. These titles will be chosen based on the number accolades that are accumulated during the award shows. Think of these three titles as our top picks of 2011. With so many opinions and voices, it is impossible to pick one and we prefer to avoid lengthy deliberations.

We hope you guys enjoy and we look forward to another wonderful year of gaming and discussions! If you have any predictions, drop them in the comments down below!

Really looking forward to all the shows. As for your personal Top 10s, I really have no idea what your guys's lists will be like. 2011 was easier to predict because you all made it very clear what games you loved ahead of time (Nier for Brad and Red Dead for Nick are some examples). This year, I'm assuming Skyrim will be close to the top of everyone's lists (except David's?) but other than that I have no idea. Regardless, 2011 has been a great year for gaming, and here's to a great 2012 to come!

Excited to hear about the technical categories, I've got some opinions on the art design of a lot of games and wanted to hear your thought on it :)

    My largest prediction for 2012:
    1. Valve announces Half-Life 3
    2. Half-Life 3 is announced for the Wii U
    3. Halo 4 is released this year but tanks because it's rushed.
    4. DMC becomes a download title.
    5. Either Microsoft or Sony announces their new consol.
    6. XBL raises their subscription prices
    7. Square Enix announces FF14
    8. Nintendo announces a new 3DS Zelda game
    9. Star Wars: The Old Republic becomes free-to-play by christmas.
    10. An Assassin's Creed game is announced, but it's is only for the Vita
