We all knew it was coming. Downloadable content was assured when Microsoft began selling Season Passes for the game, which for $30 snags the first three sets of DLC, and now some of that content has been detailed. Those hoping for more story, however, might find themselves dissapointed.
The first GOW3 DLC is the Horde Command Pack which expands upon what has become a foundation of the Gears Of War experience. The pack adds three new maps, three new playable characters, and new fortification upgrades to the Horde Mode as well as some additional weapons skins.
I think one of the more interesting aspects of the pack are the bot fortification upgrades. You'll be able to call in sniper teams, from your command center and your Decoy can be upgrading to an Onyx Guard bot to fight along side you.
Other upgrades include:
- Sentry Upgrade (adds a fire bolt sentry)
- Silverback Upgrade (the mech can be upgraded with rockets)
- Mortar strikes, and
- Hammer of Dawn strikes

Eww Horde Mode? Still sounds enjoyable, I like the Decoy Upgrade, that sounds interesting. Maybe I should get around to getting that Season Pass. . . . Naaaaaaaaa

Season pass gets ya the first four dlc packs "free". One of the characters is a Dizzy variant so not really a new character.
