I Am Alive, Ubisofts survival adventure title first announced in 2008, has now been re-announced -officially- as an XBLA/PSN downloadable title with a new trailer.

The title has been continually weaving between existing and not existing for quite awhile now, but it seems as though Ubisoft is ready to make it official for real this time.  (Barring, of course, any catastrophes that might make a post-apocalyptic setting unreasonable to market...again.)

The title shows off some of the environments, platforming and combat to be found in the game which make it look like a nice cross between Uncharted and Metro 2033.  Hopefully I Am Alive isn't just a rehashing of those concepts, but also ads some depth to the idea of survival as well.  I'll take what you have with a side of RAW Danger please.

Looks pretty cool. I'm particularly interested in how significant the father aspect will be.

A game with actual survival aspects? I may just follow this.

Reminds me of STALKER, in a way. Trapped in a zone, can't leave, can only go deeper, and everyone around you is gradually going more insane.

Looks really good, other than it's a downloadable title. I have nothing against that, but this usually mean lower (than retail) production. Also, no PC announcement?

That looks really good. Bow and arrow + modern buildings to scale? I'm sold.

I'm digging the idea. I just wish they'd do something with this character to make me want him to survive. But still, interested I am.

Well this came out of nowhere, I was convinced we'd never see anything else about this game. I'm a little worried though that it got changed to a downloadable title.

Looks like a mix of Raw Danger world, Uncharted platforming, and The Road type story.

If they can (or will, depening on if this gets delayed another 4 years with another name change) show a few more things, this could be a big seller.

looks great but I have a hard time believing it will continue to look that way if it is a downloadable title. you can't tell me they've had this game in mind for 4 years and it's not retail. big sigh there, sighing pretty hard right now. but we'll see what happens.....*sigh*

Makes me really disappointed that it's not a full retail game, I would really love to see such a concept done big and done properly; right now it looks great, but a bit unpolished, probably also because it's a downloadable title, but hey, shadow complex, bastion, super meat boy, all download titles, all superb, so there's of course hope from such a cool concept.
Besides the concept itself though, it reminded me of the LOST: via domus 360 game actually, with the character movement (except the platforming and set pieces of course) but again I'm excited to see more, and glad it's coming out.

Well if it is a xbla game they might break it into parts like Tomb Raider Anniversary. I'd much prefer a disk version.

I kind of wish they'd make the lead a single mother instead. I would personally find that much more engaging. I love how there are much more layers with a female character, and a lot more themes to play with. It could really intensify the survival aspect. Just look at Silent Hill 3, Rule of Rose and Haunting Ground. They wouldn't have been nearly as effective with dudes in the lead. I doubt they'd change him into a lady though. Ladies aren't that popular as leads. They're just the token side tits. Le sigh. I only have Tomb Raider and Blades of Time to look forward to. Where are all my ladies at? :(

Looks like they've changed the premise a little. If I remember correctly the original plot occured only mere days after the event.

Speaking of post apocalyptic settings, i'm sure there's a Water World game somewhere, but did they ever make a Postman game?
