Take a Gander at the Preset Character Designs for All Playable Races in Skyrim

Long title is long.

I like seeing that the races actually look like separate races. Bretons look English; Nords look Scandanavian; Imperials look Italian/Roman; Argonians look HNNNG

Finally! Now i don't have to make someone who looks like they've had massive amounts of plastic surgery.

I love my badass Gorilla Grod-like Dr. Orc Beauregard the Cajun professor. Brilliant yet savage; dazzling yet repuslive; sophisticated yet beardy.

A Redguard in the Nords Skyrim seems interesting, maybe a bounty hunter?
Or maybe try to recreate myself (Swede) as a Nord.
In Oblivion I played as a female Dunmer, which might be even more interesting now that you can make someone that doesn't look so ugly... (probably a rougish character with a bow/dagger).

Going to be a tough decision when I take it.

I know which race Nick is going to pick. :D

I hope their bodies will also have different look for each race. Not like in Oblivion where even the Argonians had the same body type..

Some of the faces look a bit stylized though. Funny think is, these faces, at least stylistically look more like they did in Morrowind than oblivion. The elves in particular; look at how severe they look in morrowind (and now, Skyrim) compared to the fat-faced smilies of Oblivion.

In all honestly, I have no idea what I want to choose after looking at all these.

I traditionally play nords or dunmer and will probably stick to a nord again. That being said, all of the races look incredible. I really appreciate how the elves have more of a Morrowind feel.

Also, if you look at some of the hi-res shots, you can see that some characters have blind eyes, dirt smudges, or even heterochromia. I'm pretty sure that I'll be playing around in the character creator for at least an hour before I even start the game; it looks like it'll be that detailed XD

Some of these designs are a little too old for me, but that's where the age/complexity knobs comes in handy. I might go red gaurd because I think this game might make hand to hand a lot more fun than it is in oblivion, but I still wan't that good melee/magic balance so I might stick with my traditional Dark Elf.

Is it just me or does the last male Imperial(I think those are Imperials, to the right of the Argonians) look like Chris Cornell?

I love Oblivion's character creator, even if most creations looked like abortion-survivors. Hopefully this is just as fun.

Nice to see Bethesda improved their character-modeling skills, because almost every NPC in Fallout, Oblivion and Morrowind looked downright hideous. I hope the body options are just as varied—height, weight, muscle build, etc. I hope muscle build depends on your Strength attribute, because that would be awesome.

i went with the wood elf in oblivion... now... i have no idea. i love how epic the khajiit and the argonians look. the male argonians look like dragons! DRAGONS!!!!! >xD
i am probably gonna spend 20 minutes trying to figure out which race i want to play as... then an hour creating my character.
what i am really hoping for as long with anyone else who stated this, that the body figures are all different according to race and how the facial and body animations will be.

Man, it will take HOURS until I can decide which race and even more ours till im finished tweaking my character just right, no doubt about that.

Normally I'd just go with an Argonian but after this, all the races actually look kind of cool, I'm particularly happy with how the Orcs turned out.

Joseph put into words pretty much everything I would want to say. The presets are amazing, but I definitely have to make an Argonian with my own touch to him.

Wow, they all look like they want to kill me and my dog right after they do in their mom. Well, the Khajits are smiling, that's nice. The female characters all look real strange though and while it's a step up from Oblivion I will be modding the facial textures as soon as some good ones come out because they kinda look like play-dough.

I preordered this game a couple days ago without even seeing these presets, now that I see these presets I am really pissed that I have to wait 79 days for this game to come out. If the EBgames I put in my order at is doing a midnight release I am not going to be getting any rest for nearly 60-90hours with this damn game.

But yeah they all look pretty good overall. Some of the female facial models look a little off, but still an obvious step up from Oblivion.

I think this is the first time I'm going into a game like this without thinking about character creation beforehand. This is as close to anarchy as I will ever get.

But honestly can't WAIT to get stuck into this character creator as this is probably the thing I spend most time doing in RPG's. Especially ones that I get really involved in.

I think the most improvement is in the Argonians. I like the horn especially, its an upgrade from the awkward looking white bumps sticking out of their heads. I hope they have a better accent, too.

Damn, every time I look at those character models I can't help but think how badass they are. ;o Even the Bosmer.

Now that the faces are pretty much done deals, hopefully the voice acting will have made major improvements, too. :P

Hmm, guess I'm in the minority for thinking they look pretty bad overall. Guess I'll wait to see them in motion a bit more before making a final judgement.

Hmm... My race will either be a Kajeet, or an Imperial. I love the sneakieness of the kajeet, but i look and feel like such an asshole by playing a human simba. The imperial is a well rounded character both appearancewise and gameplay wise, so he is my most likely option.

I'm stickin with argonians, like I did with Morrowind and Oblivion. For the life of me I don't know why I think they're so cool, especially in Morrowind when they were almost completely useless.

I usually roll Argonian but... I'm feeling Khajit now.
