Orcs Must Die! is a nifty little game which is one part Tower Defense and one part Dungeon Keeper, and it's officially been announced for XBLA and PC.  Your job is to secure your fortress from an invasion of Orcs by setting up various traps and obstacles to stymie their advance in any way possible.

Though some of you may be growing tired of Tower Defense games, there are some good names behind this one.   It's being developed by Robot Entertainment, which is made up of the people in Ensemble, developers of Age of Empires.

Orc Must Die! is being published by Microsoft Game Studios so, sorry Sony people, I'll be surprised if this one makes it over to the PS3 anytime soon.

YEEEEEESSSSSS! I was hoping this wouldn't be a PC exclusive.

And tired of Tower Defense games?

Anyone know if this one is gonna have co-op? o-O Looks like a good co-op game, if it does. I can see myself enjoying this far more than some of the other arcade titles that released recently.

I am a big fan of the original Dungeon Keeper and its successor, but I'm not seeing many DK elements in the game-play video. It may be that they just don't show it in this one, but does anyone know if it has a level creation element to it? Are you simply placing and triggering traps in a static environment?

Still, it looks pretty compelling and I probably would be even more enticed if it had co-op, but as far as I can tell, it has been hinted at but not confirmed.

I've been following Dungeon Defenders a bit more closely than this, but its release is taking forever (other than the mobile version). Orcs Must Die looks to be pretty fun at doing what it intends to do, offering hoards of enemies to mow down through planning and timing. Not sure if I'd get both when the come out, but I'll certainly grab one of the two (on PC that is).

This looks like it could translate to co-op play really well, maybe players could lay traps that would compliment each other, and end up being more powerful? Either way, this game is looking pretty cool.

this reminds me of that game brad played on ps1 where he played as some witch chick and she killed all the humans that came after her by planting floor traps, bolder traps, spike traps. Anyone know the name of it?
