At an event in California today CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 2 will be coming to the Xbox 360.  Rumors have been circulating ever since CD Projekt let on that they would be making an announcement concerning consoles today, and especially since The Witcher 2 has been experiencing good reviews and a fairly rabid fan base.  Though The Witcher 2 is known by PC gamers for its graphical prowess, CD Projekt is stating that the graphical fidelity will remain unchanged in the move. We'll have to see that for ourselves when we finally get our copy.

The Witcher 2 for Xbox 360 will be available later this year.  A trailer for the console release is below.

I was thinking of upgrading my pc just so I could play this. Looks like I won't have to now.

I upgraded pretty much for this game, well worth it, even matches Crysis 2 in some areas. The game is top notch, has some flaws but easily one of the best RPGs in a long, long time.

Maybe Microsoft can pull in CD Projekt to start developing games exclusive to the Xbox? They are really lacking in that area.

I guess the 360 is easy to port from PC. Sad for PS3 owners though.

I bought the Witcher 2 for PC but I haven't really touched it yet. My comp barely scrapes by the minimum specs but it plays decently at low settings from what I tested. It's wonderful that it's coming to consoles but if you have a decent rig, you should consider getting it for the PC. It still looks great at low settings though.

I still haven't beaten The Witcher 1, let alone give much of a crap about buying the 2nd one yet. Maybe Steam deal some day, much like how I got the 1st one? As for it being ported to the Xbox, who knows how the controls and graphics will transfer over. There will probably be noticeable port evidence here and there.
